This is a review for both the desktop and mobile app for Fusion360. They are both great, the iOS app being a simple viewer only, where you can make markups in pen, but can't edit the design fully, you do this via the desktop. The iOS app has been a great tool to present projects in my iPad to clients. The desktop app is fully functional CAD CAM tool, that I learned to use in about 2 weeks using the Autodesk learning videos. I am using it to interface with architects and clients, who also use Revit, so anything I make in F360 plugs straight in. Having tried Rhino, Solidworks, and OnShape, I have found F360 to be the most fully functional and intuitive to use. Having my designs and all related files (PDFs, images, docs) embedded with each project group and synced (successfully!) on the cloud is simply amazing.

I also needed support at one point for an error message, I posted a query on the F360 forum and got an official and thorough Autodesk solution nearly immediately, so that was a real selling point for me-support for issues quickly and completely. As many people are coming over from Fusion 360, including me, I was wondering if it would be possible to create a converter to allow importing of Fusion 360 archive files (f3d) to FreeCAD.

Ideally, this would allow preservation of at least some of the sketch and operation history.Īn f3d file is a compressed zip file with a number of binary-ish files inside. Thanks again to everyone would has tried to help. I have become quite comfortable with the CAD and CAM in F360 and would like to be able to use it. I will reach out to them again, seems they would want their machine to work with Fusion 360.

I believe this all has to do with the i2R profile supplied with the machine. Maybe later when I learn more about machine setup I try to set if up correctly. For now I can just jog the spindle up to change bits. I am not experienced enough to mess with the soft stop settings. From what I can find on google the g53 it there to put the spindle in a raised position to make tool changes easier. I tied it this afternoon and it seems to work fine. The pp attached there removes the g53 command altogether. Found the following non the F360 forum (. They also stated I would need to change it back to 0 to run vcarve files? So back to google. i2R suggested changing the soft limit to 1 instead of 0, spindle shot up to the stop. As soon as I hit cycle start the spindle went up and bumped then got the soft limit warning, had to hit override and lower the spindle. I tried the pp Delco kindly provided, unfortunately no joy.
